The Kentucky Derby with Grey Goose

From a guys perspective, the Derby should consist of booze and betting. But, I don’t bet. So, it involved myself having some drinks and wearing more color than I have ever have. Ever. Compared to many (most) other guys there, I was dressed pretty monotoned. But, for me, I was a flower.

Luckily, my buddies at Alexander Nash in NYC know my style well enough to not push me into a pink suit. They set me up with an amazing seersucker suit for Derby Day, pretty much the best straw hat I have ever seen and a blue dinner jacket or the night before. I threw in my own touches… some navy trousers with the seersucker top and some white Calvin Klein pants to go with the blue dinner coat. And, as always, my YSL boots that I insist to wear with everything from a tux to jeans shorts (a bit of an exaggeration). I added some pocket squares, ties belts etc as my own touches.

Jack Spade

I’m a huge fan of plain, but well thought out looks. Jeans, a tee, boots and some minimal accessories describe quite well. Jack Spades most recent collection has some amazing staple pieces that I am a massive fan of.

M.Gemi Mens Launch

image3
M. Gemi, the long storied women’s shoe brand that has some of the more classic collections around, just released their first mens collection. In the same vein, the mens are staples for every man. Clean, simplistic, timeless.

The Strada, The Legna Arno and The Tappo Lago, in my opinion, are far and away the best choices in the bunch. The all go well with all black (bc two of them are black). Which, is 99% the color of my entire wardrobe. I’m a massive fan of pieces that aren’t forced and keep a simple, yet essential line. These three fit that vibe.

GQ Offices

Swung by the GQ offices this week to discuss some projects for 2016 and have some lunch with their team. The views from just about every spot in One World Trade are impeccable. Their cafeteria is more or less a five star restaurant. There’s also 8 foot photos of every legendary gentleman adorning the walls.

Tommy Hilfiger NYFW-Men’s presentation

IMG_4264

Tommy hand picked his favorite pieces from past and current collections. He modernized his favorites from the past and presented them as his personal collection. Everything from denim to suiting and outerwear. It was great to speak with the man himself about the collection. To see the range from the past to now was a great walk through some styling history.
